Where my heart is....

Five years ago, as a Mormon who had never lived in Utah I feared "living too close to the light." I have been there and done that now and MISS "THE LIGHT"! We returned to Utah to help Jake's parents with their first shipment of household goods to their new home (not that I was much help. Jake was the strong back and the electronic whiz. The kids and I were just along for the ride and to help push Pop-pop's and Grandmas house to the limits.)

Spending ten days in the valley had us longing to move back! Real grocery stores, shopping within a few minutes drive, modest clothing, good friends, so many options, and being surrounded with Mormon culture rather than military culture.A week of reconnecting with family and friends was wonderful!! We daydream of one day returning to the Logan area and spending many days there living out our lives but for now it is just that- a dream...Thanks Susan and Fred for putting us up, for dealing with waking kids every night, for more bodies in your house than you are used to, for feeding the beasts, and entertaining us. Thanks Mom and Dad for making the trip to see us and spend time with us, I needed some time with you, I am homesick for you! Thanks Di for helping with the kids and to David for letting her come and then picking her up. Michael misses her Uncle David! Thanks to Dave and Lindsey for feeding us all and allowing the two older boys to connect. D and V are quite the buddies! Just this morning D said "I like Logan more than Disney World!" I asked him why and he made a comment about Carol and then concluded with "and my best friend V. is there!" And I have to thank Carol for braving a sleepover at her house! My kids talked about it all the way back to OK and how they wished they could live next to the Snow's and stay up late and eat pancakes, and play kitchen and, and, and... I just miss our walks and your friendship (I never got to be so lucky as to sleep over at your house :P) Thanks to Holly for taking us to Arches and letting us stay at your mom and dads place. We had a blast!
We love you Utah and all those we saw! We miss you!

We are the same way. Cache Valley would be our ultimate "settle down" spot. We miss it big time. Someday.....sigh.

ahh super cute! Vince misses Daniel too! He was so sad when we went to go check on the Smithfield house and realized his buddy wasn't still there. I think they will be friends forever :)
