Grounded!

I have been listening to Jake talk politics for quite some time. He has been listening to many different points of views to get an educated report on the happenings of the world. As he watches things in the world unfold, I watch his emotions start to soar. This morning on his way home from PT he was listening to a terrorist that openly admitted to shotting and killing several Americans and his reasoning behind it. Jake researched the episode and realized the terrorist could have potentially be one of the ones who shot at him threatening his life and the lives of his soldiers. One of the men who gave one of his soldiers nightmares for years, who played with soldiers minds and was the cause of several years of therapy, and who destroyed government property. He was so worked up! Offended, that a follow American had the audacity to interview and present the terrorists story without thinking of those families who might be listening, who the terrorist has changed the lives of forever. So this morning I officially grounded him from watching the news or listening to any of his news feeds! I remember him telling me about a relative who got awfully worked up over an election and I don't want to deal with that. SO I am ending it now!
Jake YOU ARE GROUNDED!!!

Ryan gets worked up over what he calls the ignorance of some people in the media. I think that being in Iraq puts things in a different perspective for most soldiers.

Good luck on getting him to stick to his grounding!

It is definitely a different feeling when you are here. All of the sudden things are real and people really die.on the other hand whether or not we like it the people here are our brothers and sisters so really it is like having a crude older brother who beats us up. Isn't it sad that everyone has forgotten that God said to love everyone. Maybe you should just ground him from looking up the war in Iraq stories unless he is to involved with all of them

Wow! I don't blame him for being upset about that. I should ground myself from politics and talk radio, too! But for the Grace of God (literally), I would have broken down today after I found out the stupid stimulus bill passed the Senate. Ack!!! Good for you, Crissy! Way to take the reigns for him.

That is why I have stopped listening to the news. When I read the paper I scan the headlines and quickly scan the story. If it is of interest then I read. I too sometimes am amazed at the stupidity and bad taste of the press and what they will present all in the name of news.

Chrissy, you tell him who's boss! Jake, don't listen to stuff that upsets you, you'll just get old faster! But I'm glad you're here with us and that Heavenly Father had his angels with you when you were in Iraq. Scary! Miss you guys!
