1Yr anniversary!

This week marks the one year anniversary of weight loss.(Before- Summer 07)
I am pleased with most of the results...of course it can always be better.
After my dad went thru a physical and found a few health problems that I related to years of over eating or eating the wrong foods I got scared for me and my kids. I was unhappy with myself and needed to change.(Before- Thanksgiving 07)
I started by joining weight watchers. I was categorized as being Obese. I stuck 100% to the point system for the first 4 months, moving to the overweight category. I then took a break to see if I could keep it off by myself. I did! I started again in August and lost a bit more to put me in my target weight bracket! I have since stopped using weight watchers and using the knowledge I learned while on WW and applied it, becoming accountable for my own actions when it comes to food and exercise. I am not losing the 2lbs per week that I was at first but the numbers are going down slowly. I still have my problem areas but who doesn't.
I started last year by taking measurements shocking! I lost...
bust-7"
natural waist line-4.5"
thick part of my waist-5.5"
widest part of my hips-4.5"
thigh-6"/each
(Before- Dec 07)
The biggest surprise was the losing 6" off my thigh! That is disgusting!! I lost a foot in my thighs alone! Jake of course hasn't noticed the loss of my thighs as he has other parts of me ;P LOL I have gone from a size 16-18 to a size 8-10. I feel better about myself and happy that I accomplished something I set out to do.
(During- May 08 wearing size 14jean)
The hardest part of this has been getting rid of the fat girl mentality and not using food as a reward/comfort. When I look in the mirror I don't see what I am, I see what I was. Over the past two and a half years I have deleted every picture of me. I couldn't stand looking at myself. I have gotten rid of all my fat clothes as I have shrunk out of them, so I would never go back! So I can't even do one of those pictures they do on The biggest loser holding up a pair of the old jeans. These are a few photos I managed to dig up off an old drive of my before, during, and ending with my present photos. I look forward to a new year to continue my healthy life style, and hopefully lose those last few pounds and work on toning up those few problem areas I am self conscious about.(Recent in my first ever size 8 jeans)

So inspiring?! It took me a year to do what it takes the people on the biggest loser a few weeks to do. But thanks for the compliments.

Remember, in the Biggest Loser, they dedicate their entire days to weight loss and lifestyle change, and they do it in a different environment. I think the way you did it is more effective because you've altered your own environment and changed your own lifestyle. Good for you! Really, you lost that pretty fast! Good for you! I'm glad to see pictures of you because, to be honest, you look nothing like you did when we lived in Logan! And that is a compliment!

Congratulations! That is an amazing accomplishment. You look fantastic! I think what you've done is amazing, far more amazing than The Biggest Loser. What you did takes time and dedication and patience. It's so hard! I'm very happy for you.

WW huh? That answers my facebook question. I may have to look into that, at least to have "something" to be accountable to.
Size 8 is frickin' AWESOME!

I am SOOOOOO proud of you! I told you you could do it! You look amazing and deserve all the happiness this journey has brought you! Good luck in the final push....I'll be joining you again as soon as I can convince my little tenant here to move out! I've already informed Cliff that he gets all 3 first thing in the mornings so I can get back to my work outs and my skinny clothes!
Love ya! And if this posted 3 times, I'm sorry. My computer is being dumb.

hey woman- i would love to pass on the pattern- super easy to make- just one problem... it is traced in pencil on some old paper that is tapped together and falling apart- so maybe i will make a new one! if not then i can just email you with the directions- it is very fun. plus you need round circles of the scratchy half of velcro to go on the bottom side so the handband stays put in the hair- that's the secret! ;)

That is fantastic!! Doesn't it suck having lost all the weight, only to put it back on with pregnancy?? Ha haha, mostly worth it right? (that's what I keep telling myself.)
