Can you train city folk to be country bumkins?

So this week both animals acquired a few pets of their own- FLEAS! I have them locked up in the garage. I scrubbed the base boards and vacuumed every inch of the house today! I booked a vet appt for something permanent and also a bug guy to get the house sprayed (we just bumped up our spray with Orkin from next Friday to this Friday). I changed all the bedding and sprinkled salt ( a home rememdy for Fleas) every where and then left it and just finished vacuuming it all up. YUCK! I have never in all my years of living with pets had to deal with such a thing. Fleas are for dirty places and dirty animals- not mine. But the vet reassures me they are common and everywhere this time of year, especially in the country.

After cleaning ALL day I finally got dressed and made it to the Vet's for a magic pill to last until their appt in two weeks. The lady was trying to figure out what to give me when Rainey fell. He busted his lip right on the corner of the table he was sitting next to. I wish I had a better camera to get a picture of it. It is pretty deep and a nice battle wound he will have to live the rest of his life. We had good timing tho. We managed to get him to the ER before most of the specialists went home for the day. The guy that is a masters in Mouth surgery was still around and able to stitch the boy up.

They strapped the boy to a papus- Not my favorite thing to see nor his. Then they froze him-his least favorite thing a needle being poked into his lip over and over again until it was puff and full of anesthetic. Then they sewed that baby up. Hopefully it won't leave too much of a scar! He got four stitches on the out side and a stitch or two inside his mouth were he put his eye tooth thru his cheek. Now all I have to do is keep the boy from playing with the ends of the string that are sticking out of his mouth and in his mouth. HA!

Ahhh, poor guy. It is a curse in our family I think. Each child so far has had stitches on their face when they were two. Seri fell on a table too, almost the exact same place as your guy. Michael was bit on the mouth by a dog, and Isaac ran into a corner with his forehead. We are waiting to see what Sariah will do.

Poor little baby, that looks really bad. Also, I noticed that I am no longer a link on your blog. What's up with that?

Oh. My. Gosh.
Isn't that horrible when things like that happen to our kids? WORST feeling in the world, seeing our babies all busted up.

And a serious yuck to the fleas. Our cats had them last fall too. Took them in and got them some kind of drops. Worked like a charm.

Ash- sorry! My list was deleted a few months ago when Jake was "fixing" my page. I am now tracking 30+ blogs and just have a feeder on my desktop. I just need to delete them all now or add them all! I just can't make up my mind what to do...

Poor kid! If he was a bit older, he would think his lip wound was cool! I hope it doesn't scar too much.

Even if it does scar, he's a boy and they think scars are pretty cool, next to the awesome wound that caused it in the first place.

Besides, I have a similar scar on my bottom lip and no one can see it though to me it sticks out like crazy.

What grand adventures you face though.

ouch poor Rainey...seems like it's always harder for the parents. luckily he's still young and scars heal well w. young skin. After the stitches are taken out take your finger and move in a circle on the scar tissue. It helps it from building up.
