Spring break post #2

Thanks to Stephanie and Thomas we took a hike we would have not otherwise taken. The drive to the Ka' Iwa was a along the south eastern shore, along the way we got to see whales swimming and frolicking just off shore. Unfortunately our good lens broke several weeks ago I was unable to get a good photo. However we are very excited to say we saw them. The hike was great. We saw more whales and some beautiful sights from atop of the mountain.

We also spent a day at the Polynesian Cultural center. MARVELOUS!! It was well worth our money spent. We kindly volunteered to make coconut bread on one of the islands and received a flowery head band. We took the tour and hit 5 islands, had a delicious lunch and dinner. We ended the day with the night show and were amazed at the talent. We are grateful for the inspiration of David O. McKAy to build that center, without it there would have been little for us to learn of the islands history and cultural background. It was fun learning. I hope one day we can take the kids there!

This morning we spent the day at Pearl Harbour. That was in a very different way educational and informative. Not something you can write alot about it is more a personalization of history...

I will probably make one more post to document our next 48hrs here in Hawaii right before getting on the plane. We plan on hiking Diamond head as soon as the sun isn't so high, snorkeling, visiting a former sister missionary, seeing Stephanie and her family one more time, and of course shopping and the beach before we leave.

Aloha!

It is good to see you are enjoying yourselves. At times I don't think the kids miss you very much. Auntie Di is just as often called MaMa by Rainey as AnDi. But you should see their faces light up when they hear you on the phone. Daniel has to tell us that he talked to Mommy and Dad on the phone. Enjoy the last couple of days. We are surviving and enjoying the kids.

So we are headed to London today to see Les Miserables. We are going ohne kinder (except Brandon) and are spending 3 nights there. I show Steve your blog and he sees that you are in Hawaii and what does he say. I would much rather be in Hawaii than in London! Boy, I guess some people can never be happy. :)
It looks like you guys are having a great time and I am thrilled that you get to do this together before Jake heads off.

Hey Chrissy- I don't have your email or phone number with me here in Florida so I thought I'd post on the blog...

Can you help with Centers on Thursday? If you'll just email me at tidbits@utahtidbits.com and let me know...

Thanks!
