Happy Father's day!!

I have been blessed several times over. I have been influenced by many fatherly types. First of course was my own father. He has taught me many things over the years but the one I appreciate most these days is how to control my temper with the kids- it is more important to use your words rather than your hands. There was my Papa, who taught me self control. He use to talk of his bad habits and how he over came the natural man and felt better about doing so. He also taught me to be a friend. My Papa was well known for his listening ear and his love for people. I had several adoptive fathers- my best friends dad, my host dads in Germany, Bishops and other ward members, and of course my FIL. Fred my Father in law has taught me a lot about living within a budget and living with adversity. I have learned how to live as a military wife through his encouragement and his experiences in life. Then there is my loving husband! Jake has taught me to let the housework go and to enjoy the moment. The dishes will wait the kids won't. He has taught me to be tender and more compassionate. Jake has an amazing heart. He often says "It is just stuff" as he gives his worldly items to others. He has helped me to focus on the eternal rather than the immediate.

I love all the fathers who have played a part in my life! Hope you all know you are appreciated!
