We made it to 7

Today was our 7th anniversary.

We were surprised by my sister randomly showing up last night. She had talked of coming down but never made any set plans, or said she couldn't find a ride. She planned to ride with a friend who was on his way to Arizona and dropped her off in Tremonton. She will stay with us for 3weeks, saving me from a week of misery and loneliness while Jake goes out East for a military history class. She also saved us from having to beg, borrow, or steal someone to sit our kids.

We wanted to do something fun for our annv. Something that would make a difference and be selfless. It has been almost a year since we last went to the temple. As we walked in the door they asked us if we would like to do some sealings. We were thrilled! We did some lady's family names, then were asked if we could return in an hours time to do some more. We agreed, Jake spent his hour studying his scriptures while I went to work elsewhere in the temple. I returned and had to send out a search party to find my sleeping husband :) It was a great way to spend our afternoon!

We spent our evening working with friends on a kind of habitat for humanity type thing. It was fun to take no thought for ourselves and to do something to celebrate what the Lord has given us, a marriage for all time and eternity, a family, a beautiful home to live in, and many people who have served us over the years. We are so grateful for all those who have helped us get to where we are in life. Thanks to all our loved ones for supporting us through another wonderful year.

Betty, we tried to figure it out and came up with 3+yrs have been spent apart. (2x1month Poland, Military schools 4months, 13months-Iraq #1, 9months-Iraq#2, field problems at least 7 months a month at a time). It keeps the excitement alive :) But we have enjoyed the past 9months together with few separations.
