Daniel and I have had several conversations this week about our house.
D-This house is not cool
Me-What's not cool about it?
D- My friends live way down there. (As he puts the 1/5of a mile to his friends house down the street)
Me- Sorry! What would you like me to do to make it better?
D- Move back to our other house
Me- Sorry Vince lives there now. It is his house now!
D- Oh that is not fair!
Me- Why? you have a bigger room here. You have new friends. You have a way bigger back yard to play in, and lots of dirt to make mud out of.
D- (thoughtful for a few minutes) Ok we can stay here for a little while but when Vince leaves I am going back!
D- I hate this house!
D- I hate this door! (As he leans up against the back patio screen door)
Me- I am sorry! It helps keep the house warmer and the wind out. It helps mommy hear you play in the yard without letting all the bugs in.
D- I hate it! Our other house doesn't have one! We don't need it! I want MY other house!
Me- We no longer live in our other house, we live here. This is where Heavenly Father wants us!
D- I want my old friends, my old house, my old everything!
I am fearful to take him to Utah in May to see GG Hill. If we stop by Dave and Lindsey's he might never want to leave the old neighborhood. Hopefully with the sale of three more homes in the area another little kid his age will move in!
